Nicodemus comes to Jesus at night, not necessarily in secrecy, but in the kind of space where real conversations happen. In John 3, Jesus does not offer another miracle or a simple religious formula. Instead, he invites Nicodemus into a layered, searching theological dialogue about new birth, Spirit, and light.
In a culture that often reduces Christianity to slogans, sound bites, or a single memorized verse, this story reminds us that faith is not simplistic. It is not a bumper sticker. It is a living relationship that engages the mind as well as the heart.
The Christian life makes room for deep questions, thoughtful study, and honest conversation. Our lives are complex, and the God who meets us in Christ is not afraid of that complexity. In fact, sustained theological reflection can become a form of worship and a way of remaining in relationship with the One who continues to speak.
