Throughout Scripture, God’s people are called again and again to welcome the stranger, to care for the foreigner, and to remember that we, too, were once strangers in a strange land. In a time of global upheaval and displacement, this calling is not abstract but an urgent reality that we cannot ignore.

Global Refuge, our national Lutheran refugee resettlement agency, has been living out this calling since 1939, offering welcome, support, and new beginnings to more than 750,000 refugees.

On June 10 at 10:00 AM, Messiah Lutheran Church and St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church invite you to a morning of learning, conversation, and discernment. Catherine Stallsmith, Mobilization Officer with Global Refuge, will guide us in understanding this work more deeply and how you and your congregation can take part in it.

Come with your questions. Come ready to listen. Come discerning how God may be calling you to participate in the holy work of welcome.

The event will be held at St. Matthew's fellowship hall (5709 Wedgwood Dr., Ft. Worth). Coffee and light breakfast will be provided. For those who would like to join virtually, a Zoom option will be made available. Use the link below to RSVP to let us know if you plan to attend or to provide us your email so you can receive the Zoom link.
