Following the announcement of the upcoming retirement of Pastor Franz Schemmel on May 18, 2025, we are sharing an important update regarding our pastoral leadership transition.

After months of faithful work by the Call Committee and Congregational Council, and a unanimous vote during today’s congregational meeting, we are pleased to share that Trent Ormsbee-Hale has accepted our call to serve as Messiah’s next Pastor.

His ordination will take place on May 24, 2025 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Fort Worth, followed by his installation at Messiah Lutheran Church on May 25, 2025.

To honor Pastor Franz’s faithful ministry, Messiah Lutheran Church will hold a Service of Thanksgiving on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. We invite all to join us in celebrating Pastor Franz’s many years of pastoral leadership and service to our congregation. A reception will follow the service.

We give thanks for the guidance of the Holy Spirit throughout this process and look forward to welcoming Trent into this new chapter of ministry. Please continue to keep Pastor Franz, Trent, and the entire congregation in your prayers as we move forward together in faith.
