Messiah member, Elizabeth Lothamer, is a regular volunteer with Children's Advocacy Center of Parker County (CACPC). CACPC's mission is to "end the cycle of abuse by giving the children of Parker County a voice." They do this by coordinating with law enforcement and child protective services and by providing investigatory services, education, counseling services, and victim support and advocacy. Their mission reminds us that all children in Parker County deserve to be respected, safe, and cared for.

In traumatic times, even seemingly small gestures of comfort and care can have a big impact. So, when Elizabeth learned that CACPC was running low on snacks for the children that come to the center, she rallied Messiah members to collect plenty of goodies for the children. Hebrews 10:24 challenges us to "consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds." Each day, Messiah members like Elizabeth do just that: listening and watching for where there is a neighbor in need and provoking our whole community to respond with the same grace and love that Christ has first given us.

Thank you, Elizabeth for your leadership, and thank you CACPC for your ongoing advocacy for children in Parker County.
