Messiah Quilters Send off 30 Quilts for Lutheran World Relief

On Reformation Sunday, October 27th,  the talented quilters of Messiah Lutheran Church celebrated and blessed 30 quilts before they embark on a journey to comfort those in need. These quilts, handmade by our dedicated quilting group, will soon be delivered to Lutheran World Relief’s (LWR) Ingathering in Plano, TX. From there, they will be distributed worldwide to offer warmth and hope to families enduring crises, from natural disasters to displacement due to conflict.

Since its inception in 1945, the LWR Quilt & Kit Ministry has provided practical support to vulnerable communities in over 20 countries, most recently expanding to support families within the United States as well. Each quilt tells a story of compassion, made possible by the generosity and skill of our quilters and by contributions from supporters who believe in this life-giving work.
