As Christmas approaches, Messiah Lutheran Church invites you into a season filled with hope, preparation, and celebration. From quiet moments of prayer to shared meals and candlelit worship, this season at Messiah offers many ways to ready your heart for the coming of Christ.

Christmas Eve Services – Tuesday, December 24

3:00 PM – Christmas Carols & Lessons
A warm, family-friendly gathering featuring Scripture readings, our favorite Christmas carols, and Holy Communion. Immerse yourself in music and the story that draws us toward the manger.

7:00 PM – Candlelight Service
Our traditional candlelit liturgy—beloved readings, timeless hymns, and the beauty of Holy Communion as we welcome the Light who shines in the darkness.

How to Prepare Your Heart This Advent

Before we reach the joy of Christmas Eve, Messiah offers several meaningful ways to slow down, pray, learn, and reconnect during Advent.

Advent Dinner Church — Wednesdays at 6:00 PM (Dec. 3, 10, 17)

A simple shared meal becomes a sacred gathering. Around one table, we pray, hear Scripture, engage in conversation, and celebrate Holy Communion in a setting reminiscent of the early church. It’s a peaceful mid-week pause in the midst of December’s busyness.

Holy Family Recipes — Sundays at 9:30 AM

Our Advent Adult Forum explores the season’s four great canticles alongside the “recipes” that shape our own lives of faith. Each week we reflect, share stories, and consider the spiritual practices that help us stay rooted in God’s promise.

Sunday Divine Service — 10:30 AM

Each Sunday in Advent invites us deeper into the season’s themes: longing, hope, preparation, and joy. Gather with us around Word and Sacrament as we watch and wait for Christ’s coming.

Advent Quiet Day — Saturday, December 20 (10:00 AM–3:00 PM)

In the final rush before Christmas, the sanctuary will be open for a come-and-go day of quiet prayer and reflection. Simple prayer stations will be available, and the pastor will be available for those who desire conversation, prayer, anointing, or private confession. Stop by amidst your errands and let this space help you breathe again.
