Text-to-Sermon Group

Join Vicar Trent most Wednesday mornings at 10:00 in the Messiah library for coffee and a laid-back study of the upcoming Sunday readings. Unlike other bible studies, this is a chance for you to take part in the sermon-preparation process: praying with the readings, using basic biblical scholarship techniques, and reflecting on the challenges of the world around us. A Text-to-Sermon Group is another way for sermon-writing to be something the whole community takes part in. It will give you an opportunity to dwell deeply with the scripture readings before hearing them proclaimed on Sunday morning. And, at the end of each gathering, you’ll have developed your own preaching-point that you can carry with you into the week to proclaim to others in word and deed.
