As our Messiah community looks forward to reaffirming our longstanding commitment to inclusion and justice , and as we deliberate an official decision on becoming a Reconciling in Christ Partner, members are invited to one of two movie nights with time for discussion.
On our second movie night, November 15th, we'll be wathcing the 2019 documentary White Savior: Racism in the American Church. Covering both history and theology (and including the voices of many ELCA leaders), this film explores the historic roots and ongoing relationship between racism and American Christianity. Bring any snacks you'd like to have during the movie or that you'd like to share. After the film, we'll have some time to share and discuss what we learned and how this applies to our work at Messiah.
