Almighty God, your Son came into the world to free us all from sin and death. Breathe upon us the power of your Spirit, that we may be raised to new life in Christ and serve you in righteousness all our days, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen
Join us for Lenten soup supper and worship on Wednesdays at 6:00 P.M. We share a simple meal and gather for a Lenten-themed service of song and prayer at 6:45. Please join us for this friendly, warmhearted time of reflection.
Gracious God, out of your love and mercy you breathed into dust the breath of life, creating us to serve you and our neighbors. Call forth our prayers and acts of kindness, and strengthen us to face our mortality with confidence in the mercy of your Son, Jesus, Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, on God, now and forever, Amen
Today is the first day of the season in the church year known as Lent. It includes the 40 days before Easter (not counting Sundays). Lent is a time of reflection, repentance and opening our hearts to Christ and the gospel of love.
We enter into Lent today, Ash Wednesday, with a solemn service at 6:30 P.M., with confession and imposition of ashes, and Holy Communion.
Holy God of compassion, you invite us into your way of forgiveness and peace.
Lead us to love our enemies, and transform our words and deeds
to be like his through whom we pray, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.
Messiah’s new sign will reach folks driving by from all directions, an important job as our neighborhood grows. Messiah’s message will be seen be parents going to and from Austin Elementary School, people shopping for cars to the southeast, and everyone heading for the new Film Alley movie theater and bowling alley. We will have the ability to put a welcome and a gospel message on the digital screen for all to see.
Installation got underway in the morning on Friday, Jan. 26
Holy God, our strength and our redeemer,
by your Spirit hold us forever,
that through your grace we may worship you
and faithfully serve you,
follow you and joyfully find you,
through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen
Our worship services are at 8:00 and 10:30 A.M. Sundays.
We gather for adult study on Wednesdays at 6:30 P.M.
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for see—I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign for you: you will find a child wrapped in bands of cloth and lying in a manger.” – Luke 2:10-12
